In order to use the Services on the Sites, you must register as a user (“User”) and provide certain information to us. You may access the Website and certain web pages without registering, but such access will be limited. Nevertheless, we may still collect certain anonymized data from you when you access the Website.
The types of information we require may vary depending on the type of registered User. See the following table for some examples of data collected:
You acknowledge and agree to provide information that is true and correct, and you attest that you are authorized to provide all the information submitted during your registration process and any time you update your account.

If you sign in using these third party API services, we access, collect and store the following information: your name, profile picture, age range, gender, language, country, email address and any other public information. Facebook does now allow us to post to Facebook, however the Twitter API allows our Sites to read tweets from your timeline, see who you follow and follow new people, update your profile, and post tweets for you. If you register for a Service that requires you to pay a fee, Via The Village may also collect your payment method details, such as credit card number, expiration date, and security code, as well as your billing address, for payment purposes.
You may allow location services available through your browser settings. You control whether you allow the browser to provide your current location for purposes of providing input when creating a User profile.
We may also collect information about you provided by others, such as registered Users who invited you to the Website, third party service providers to verify your information, and from other sources (e.g. partners, researchers, marketers etc.) to enable us to determine demographic data, comply with regulatory requirements, check the accuracy of data, prevent fraud, etc.

Furthermore, if you buy a new computer or mobile device, change web browsers or delete the opt-out cookie, you will need to perform the opt-out task again. Please note that if you opt-out you may continue to receive Via The Village advertisements as you surf the Internet, including contextual ads based on the content on a webpage you are visiting. III. How we use your information.
In general, we use the information you provide to enable the features of the Services, specifically pairing families with nannies and vice versa. We enable Users to view each other’s profiles, connect with each other, and message each other. We also offer a community forum for discussion between Users and visitors. The following is a list including, but not limited to, the ways we may use your information:
register your account;
service your account;
contact you whether to provide you with notifications of new messages, answer questions, solicit feedback or notify you about new features, special events, additional services that may be of interest to you. We may do this by email, telephone, SMS, community forum or messaging board within the Services, or by some other means;
enable searches by Users in order to connect nannies and families; and
perform analytics and improve our Services.
IV. How your information is shared.
You have the ability to control certain information you provide and we urge you to be mindful to not share information on your profile that you do not want other Users to know. In order to increase your chances of finding a nanny or a nanny position, your name and any other information you provide on your profile may be made accessible to other Users of the Services. We may also share your community connections with other Users of the Sites, and whether you have connected your profile to your Facebook or your Twitter account.
Your profile information will appear in the community searches and will be visible to other Users of the Website. The searches are conducted based on the location associated to your profile, and your approximate residential location (or employer’s location) may be made available through Google Map plotting. You must provide us with your exact address, however any User viewing your location would only see an approximate radius range as the address. When a nanny User requests a recommendation, your last name is shared to avoid any confusion about who is sending the request and to make it clear for the recipient.
Any posts on the forum, and any information shared through the blog is available to be viewed by any visitor to the Website without first needing to register or log in.
We may solicit and display personal testimonials of Users on our Sites or in other marketing materials. These testimonials or endorsements may include information such as the User’s first name, first initial of last name, town and state. If you provide us with your consent, we may include your full name at our discretion.
We may also share your information with certain vendors with whom we have a contractual relationship and who need to have access to your information to provide services, such as credit card payment processing, online communication services, email or mobile messaging services, advertising services, and fraud detection and prevention. From time to time we may share certain information with our third party affiliates for the purpose of providing you with advertising for products we believe may be of interest to you. If you wish to opt-out from receiving this information, you may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
